Over the past few weeks, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and it’s been nothing short of exciting! I recently installed a couple of Wyze cameras and some Govee smart lights, and while the setup was mostly smooth, there were a few bumps along the way that turned into learning opportunities. 
One of the first things I tackled was setting up motion-activated lights. I wanted the lights to turn on when someone enters the room but also ensure they didn’t stay on all night. After some trial and error, I figured out the perfect automation rule using my phone’s geolocation. Now, the lights automatically adjust based on whether I’m home or away. It’s such a small thing, but it makes a world of difference! 
Another project I’m proud of is creating a bedtime routine. With just a few taps, my bedroom lights dim, the thermostat adjusts to a cozy temperature, and calming music starts playing. It’s like having a personal butler without the price tag! 
However, not everything went as planned. I ran into an issue where my cameras wouldn’t record videos consistently. After some research, I discovered that adjusting the cloud storage settings and ensuring a stable internet connection solved the problem. Now, I have peace of mind knowing my home is always watched over. 
One thing I’d love to explore further is integrating my smart devices with voice commands. I’ve heard amazing things about Google Home’s capabilities, and I’m eager to see how it can enhance my setup even more.
