Hey everyone, I’m a newbie here, and I just wanted to share my experience with removing a dashboard in Home Assistant. It was a bit of a puzzle at first, but I managed to figure it out with some trial and error.
So, I had this dashboard that I created a while back, and it wasn’t really serving its purpose anymore. I decided it was time to delete it, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it. I remember seeing something about dashboards in the Lovelace configuration, but I wasn’t entirely clear on the steps.
First, I went into the Lovelace editor by clicking the three dots in the top right corner of my dashboard and selecting ‘Edit Dashboard.’ From there, I could see a list of all my dashboards. I found the one I wanted to remove and tried clicking the delete button, but nothing happened. I was a bit confused and worried I might have broken something.
After a quick search in the forums, I found out that sometimes dashboards can be linked to other configurations or automations. I decided to check if there were any dependencies. I went into my configuration.yaml file and looked for any references to the dashboard. Fortunately, there weren’t any, so I knew it was safe to proceed.
I went back to the Lovelace editor and tried deleting the dashboard again. This time, it worked! I was relieved and a bit proud of myself for figuring it out. It just goes to show how helpful the community is and how important it is to double-check configurations before making changes.
If anyone else is struggling with dashboard removal or any other Lovelace-related issues, don’t hesitate to ask. We’re all here to help each other out! ![]()
