Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience with getting Google Assistant to recognize my device names properly. I recently set up my Sonos speakers and an LG TV, but I noticed that Google wasn’t recognizing them by their custom names. Instead, it kept asking for the full device name, which was a bit frustrating. After some research and tweaking, I figured out that the issue was with how the devices were named in both the Google Home app and the respective manufacturer’s apps. By ensuring that the names were consistent across all platforms and avoiding special characters, Google Assistant now recognizes them without any issues. It’s such a relief to have everything working smoothly! If anyone else is experiencing similar problems, I’d recommend double-checking the device names and making sure they’re consistent everywhere.
