Troubleshooting Namron Zigbee Thermostats

Hello there! I’m reaching out to share my experience and hopefully help others who might be facing a similar issue. I recently added five Namron Zigbee thermostats to my Homey setup, and while the initial pairing went smoothly, I encountered a puzzling error. Whenever I tap on any of the thermostats in the app, I receive the message: Could not get the device by id. As a new user to Homey, this was a bit disconcerting, but I decided to tackle it step by step.

First, I considered the possibility of a connectivity issue. I ensured that all thermostats were within range of the Homey hub and that there were no obstructions that might interfere with the Zigbee signal. I also checked the firmware versions of both the thermostats and the Homey app, updating them as needed. Surprisingly, the issue persisted.

I then delved into the Homey app settings, exploring device management and network diagnostics. I discovered that resetting the network and re-pairing the devices resolved the problem temporarily. However, the error reappeared after a few days, which led me to investigate further.

After some research, I found that others had encountered similar issues, often related to device firmware compatibility or network instability. I decided to test the thermostats with a different Zigbee coordinator, and to my relief, they functioned without any errors. This indicated that the problem might be specific to the Homey hub’s configuration.

I reached out to the Homey support community, where I received invaluable advice. One suggestion was to clear the Homey app’s cache and preferences, which I did. To my delight, the thermostats now respond correctly without the error message. It seems that a corrupted cache was the culprit.

This experience taught me the importance of thorough troubleshooting and the value of community support. I hope my journey can assist others who might be experiencing similar issues. Happy smart home tinkering! :rocket:
