My goal was to test its functionality without installing it in the wall switch first. I followed the basic setup by connecting the brown cable to the L terminal and attaching a store-bought lamp. However, nothing seemed to work—neither the switch nor the lamp responded. I tried entering the learning mode via Z2M, but it didn’t detect anything. This was a bit frustrating, especially since the wall switch only has a brown cable and a lamp wire.
After some research, I realized that the issue might be related to the lack of a neutral wire in my setup. I decided to try installing the switch in the wall as intended, and to my relief, it worked perfectly! The switch not only controls the lamp but also integrates seamlessly with my smart home ecosystem.
