Hello community, I’m hoping we can gather support for Aqara to add a simple feature to there u100 smart lock. I’d love to see a simple auto lock timer i.e. Lock after x time from being unlocked.
Currently the only options for auto lock are the Lab lock on close which let’s be honest isn’t 100% and sometimes locks as the door is closing preventing the door from closing. And a Auto-lock feature that is linked to unlocking remotely meaning the only time the auto-lock feature which has the ability of setting a time will be used is when the lock is unlocked via some app like google/alexa/or apple home. If you simply manually unlock the door to leave the house the lock will never auto-lock.
IMHO linking the auto-lock feature to some type of app should simply be removed so the lock auto-locks at the given time regardless of how it was unlocked. Or add a toggle to the auto-lock setting that say’s include manual unlock.
Good idea, I just checked and it looks like to use the app automations i would need to purchase a hub. and their is no option for unlocked from the inside as a trigger.
Given a reliance on the aqara hub i’m assuming that the automations then are run/triggered from my phone or whatever device i have the app installed on which would provide an additional point of failure if say my phone is shut off. Which would leave my house unlocked which would be bad.
IMHO an auto-lock on a timer should be a table stakes feature for a “smart” lock.
Automation works locally and does not depend on the functionality of the phone, no matter whether it is on or not. Automation does not start on your phone. It works directly on the Aqara Hub (gateway). Your switched off phone will not affect this in any way.
That’s good to know however given there isn’t a way to trigger an automation on the lock being unlocked from the inside even automation doesn’t provide a solution.
not to mention that the if options list out allot of individual ways the lock get’s unlocked and doesn’t provide a simple Unlocked option to ensure that all possible ways the lock is unlocked will trigger the automation. This leaves a possibility of the lock getting unlocked in a way that doesn’t trigger the automation and there for leaves the lock unlocked and my home venerable
