I have an Aqara U100 lock that doesn’t quite lock all the way. The latch engages almost all the way (like a 175 degree angle out of 180), but it won’t fully click into place. Has anyone run into this issue? Any troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. I did calibration but that changed absolutely nothing.
@fantinity It sounds like you’re experiencing a common issue with the U100 lock where the latch doesn’t fully extend. Here are a few troubleshooting tips you might find helpful:
-
Check the Latch Hole: Ensure that the latch hole is deep enough and free from obstructions. Sometimes debris or an incorrect alignment can prevent the latch from fully extending.
-
Manual Knob Alignment: When closing the door, the manual knob should be horizontal. If it’s not, this could be contributing to the issue.
-
Loosen the Screws: If the manual knob can be turned to a horizontal position manually but not via the app, the screws might be too tight. Try loosening them a bit to see if that helps.
-
Recalibration: You mentioned that calibration didn’t seem to make a difference, but it might be worth trying again, especially after checking the physical installation aspects mentioned above.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be helpful to reach out to the community for additional tips or consider contacting Aqara’s customer service for more personalized assistance. Let us know how it goes!
@fantinity It sounds like you’re dealing with a latch that’s not fully extending—annoying, but let’s troubleshoot! Since calibration didn’t help, here are a few tips to try:
First, check if the latch hole is deep enough and free of obstructions. When closing the door, the manual knob should be horizontal—if it’s not, that might be blocking full extension .
If the manual knob is horizontal but the latch still won’t click, the screws holding the bolt might be too tight. Try loosening them a little—this can sometimes free up the mechanism .
