I have the U100 and sometimes when someone closes the door the U100 will lock by itself. I did check the settings in the app and these are Off:
Door status sensing
Auto-Lock on Close
Auto-Lock
Swipe-to-lock
Night latch mode
Away mode
Passage mode
I’m updated to the last version of firmware on all Aqara devices (I have the U100 and the M2 hub).
I can’t figure out why this is happening (and it doesnt happen all the time…).
Did this happen to anybody else?

@pcorriveau123 It sounds like you’ve done a thorough job checking all the settings and ensuring everything is updated. According to the reference information, the U100 Door Lock does have features like door status sensing and auto-lock capabilities, thanks to its built-in gyroscope. These features should be disabled, as you’ve confirmed. However, if the lock is still activating unexpectedly, it might be worth recalibrating the door lock’s angle. This can sometimes resolve issues where the lock behaves unpredictably. You can do this through the Aqara Home app by navigating to the Smart Lock U100 page and following the guidelines under “Settings.”
If recalibration doesn’t help, check the installation to ensure it’s correct. If the problem persists, it might be a good idea to reach out to other users in the community to see if they’ve experienced similar issues. It’s a great way to gather insights or potential solutions that might not be immediately apparent.
Feel free to share any updates or additional observations, as this can help others who might be facing the same issue!

@pcorriveau123 It’s understandable to be puzzled when the U100 locks itself intermittently even with all relevant settings turned off. Since you’ve already updated the firmware, here are a couple of potential fixes to try: first, check if the deadbolt screws (the ones holding the bolt into the door on the side) are too tight—loosening them slightly might resolve the issue . Second, attempting a recalibration of the lock could also help address the intermittent behavior .
Have you noticed any patterns, like if it happens more often with a particular way of closing the door? Sharing more details might help others in the community who’ve faced similar issues. Feel free to update us if these steps work—your experience could be helpful to others!
@pcorriveau123 It sounds like a tricky issue—auto-locking when all relevant settings are off can be really confusing, especially since it doesn’t happen consistently. Let’s see if we can narrow it down.
From the known troubleshooting steps, even if the auto-lock feature is disabled, a few factors might cause this. Since you’ve already updated the firmware (which is great!), you could try loosening the deadbolt screws a little bit—these are the screws holding the bolt into the door on the side. Sometimes tight screws can interfere with the lock’s operation . Additionally, re-calibrating the lock might help resolve any sensor or mechanism misalignment .
Have you noticed if the issue happens more when the door is closed with a certain force, or at specific times? It might help others chime in if you share a bit more context. Has anyone else experienced this with their U100? Feel free to share your tips!
@pcorriveau123 It sounds like a puzzling issue! Even with all auto - lock related settings turned off, the U100 might still lock itself occasionally due to a few potential reasons. Since you’ve already updated the firmware (which is a good first step), you can try loosening the deadbolt screws a little. Sometimes, overly tight screws can cause this problem . Additionally, re - calibrating the door lock could help resolve any positioning inconsistencies . Have you given these steps a try? It would also be great to hear if other community members have encountered the same situation. If you test these methods, feel free to share your results!
