U200 cloud connection with g410 hub

I have read, a few times, that the u200 only gets full functionality when the bound hub is a M3. I have an M3 hub but obviously the g410 hub is right next to the lock so it joins that thread router and is therefore greyed out in the aqara app when away from home. And if I hit the cloud icon on the locks device page it says there is a binding problem. The lock is perfectly accessible in HomeKit but only the locks status shows in the Aqara app while away from home.

Why can’t the u200 have full cloud connectivity when it’s joining the g410 hub? That’s most likely the closest hub if you’ve fully bought into the aqara ecosystem.

It it possible I have something misconfigured?

If the G410 and M3 are in the same Thread Network, the M3 hub would be able to see the U200 even if it was connected to the G410, check under the network information page under the M3 and the G410, if they are in different Thread networks, that might be the reason why it’s greyed out when away from home. You can change thein network by tapping “Thread Network Management”.

As far as I know, the G410 is a full Aqara Matter Controller and also should be able to allow remote control for U200, but I only use the M3 as my Primary Controller and the G410 as a secundary backup so I can’t confirm for sure if thats the expected behavior.

They were all on the same thread network, the m3 was the primary. But my theory was definitely wrong. I unplugged the chime to take the g410 offline, moved the m3 close to the door, rebooted everything and I still didn’t see it in the cloud connection… just the local Bluetooth. So I deleted the matter binding to Aqara Home and re added it. That seems to have fixed it.
