I’ve had my U200 since the kickstarter - it was replaced because it had a but and the new one has been pretty good. I always keep it up to date with final firmware - never beta.
It’s connected to my Apple Home and Home Assistant through Matter. It was nice to be able to remotely update the firmware from Home Assistant!
The new one was fine for a while, but in the last couple of months we haven’t been able to use a manual key to lock or unlock. It is so hard it feels like the key is going to break!
The noise from the lock has been getting louder and ‘chunkier’ so we thought the door was jammed. But when we looked it lined up perfectly. Nothing is keeping it from smoothly locking or unlocking.
We tried loosening some screws but that didn’t do anything. Before we try anything else, I’d like to know what has worked for you?
@49311 It sounds like you’re experiencing quite a challenging issue with your U200 Door Lock. From the information available, it seems there isn’t a direct reference for your specific problem of the key being difficult to turn and the noise becoming louder. However, here are a few suggestions based on general troubleshooting for similar issues:
Firmware and Installation Check: Ensure that your lock’s firmware is up to date, although you mentioned it’s already updated. Double-check the installation to see if everything is correctly aligned and installed as per the manufacturer’s instructions. Sometimes, even a small misalignment can cause significant issues.
Physical Inspection: Since loosening the screws didn’t help, you might want to inspect the internal components for any signs of wear or obstruction. The noise change could indicate something might be slightly off inside the lock mechanism.
Maintenance: Consider applying a suitable lubricant to the lock cylinder and moving parts. This might help if friction is contributing to the difficulty in turning the key.
Professional Assistance: If the problem persists and you are concerned about potential damage, it might be best to consult with a professional locksmith or contact Aqara’s support for further assistance.
