U200 door lock, still not working as expected after firmware update

I have 2 door locks, a U200 lite which I’m so impressed with and works flawlessly, so much I’m so, I bought the U200 with home key as I thought this would be better than the lite.

The lite works flawlessly, the u200 seems to struggle to start opening the lock, it seems to pulse several times before actually starting to unlock / lock.

This is with the latest firmware 84 version.

Advice needed - I’ve attempted to recalibrate many times and it works once or twice then starts to struggle again.

This is the lock locking and unlocking. You can hear the back and forth as it tries to work out what to do.

This is controlled via HomeKit, sometimes the lock gets completely confused and turns all the way past its stop point and gives a jammed warning.

As I said, my U200 lite on my back door, connected to the same system, exactly the same way works perfectly.

Here is my u200 lite, on the exact same type of door connected via HomeKit - working perfectly

I’d have expected the u200 lite to be inferior but in this case it just works.

Also I noticed in the u200 lite settings you can disable the ‘latch’ feature, no idea what this is but you can’t turn this off in the u200 settings

I now have a lock that cost twice the price of the lite which is prone to failing causing issues getting into my home. Dont get me started on the finger print sensor function. I gave up on that and stick to home key, that is at least 80% reliable

Hi Steve,
Thank you for sharing such valuable feedback! Based on the video you provided, it appears there may be a quality issue with the gearbox in your door lock. To assist you further, could you please share your contact email with us at kaiming.yu-a1550@aqara.com? Our customer service team will arrange for a replacement unit to be sent to you and I can assure you that the new product will resolve the repeated attempts issue you’ve experienced.

Regarding the fingerprint recognition sensitivity you mentioned, we’ve observed that in some cases, users with less distinct fingerprints may encounter similar challenges. While we can’t guarantee that a replacement will fully resolve this, we typically recommend using NFC or HomeKey as alternative unlocking methods for a smoother experience.

Looking forward to your email, we’re here to help!

Hello, email has been sent, looking forward to resolving this issue.

I can’t return this to Amazon as I’m just outside the return window, hoping the new firmware would have fixed the issues.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks you
