I have a setup with the “U200 Lock” and “Camera G5 PRO”. I created an automation where the lock opens if a specific/registered face is detected.
Unfortunately, the automation stopped working about 2 months ago after I updated the hub and other firmware. Has something changed in the settings?
Also, should this automation work even if I don’t have a paid Home Guardian subscription? The app notifies me that the specific person has been detected, but the door simply doesn’t unlock. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Without subscription. I never had a subscription. It used to work very good and as I wrote before it worked well BEFORE updating firmware to 4.5.20_0004.0017.
Let’s dig in and do some troubleshooting. Can you share screenshots of the automation so that we know we are talking through the same things?
You have a trigger - specific face is detected. And the Action is unlock the door.
The troubleshooting should help determine which one is failing. If you test the automation using the preview does it work to unlock the door? I would suggest the following. Build two new test automations.
One using the G5 face detection as a trigger for another automation (turning on some lights or something like that). Basically anything that can confirm face detection is still working as an automation trigger. If you confirm face detection is working as a trigger, then move on and try the next.
A second automation with a different trigger, but the same action of unlocking the door.
It should take just a few minutes to test and confirm if the issue is with the trigger or the action. And if neither of these work, then it could be a bug in the hub’s automation engineer which will need Aqara support to look at.
Hi, I have added a new automation: Face detection to toggle the LED light. The detection part works fine (I receive a notification), but the LED does not react. This is exactly the same behavior/issue as with the smart lock (where it wouldn’t open). I am attaching a screenshot of the automation configuration.
