U200 sometimes opens/closes very slowly – defect or known issue?

Hi everyone,

I’m using two U200 locks — one U200 Lite on Door 1 and one regular U200 with keypad on my main entrance.
The Lite version works perfectly.

However, the regular U200 sometimes opens or closes very slowly, but not always.
I already enabled “Loud Turn” and “Help with turning”.
I’ve reset it several times and recalibrated at least a dozen times, even with a full battery.

When I test it 10 times in a row, about 8 times it’s slow and 2 times normal speed.
Firmware is up to date, and it happens both over Matter and when using the keypad.

Is my unit defective, or is there some trick or known workaround?

Hi, this happens to me when I slowly scroll the locking handle (auto-closing assist is on). How does this happen to you?

Thanks for the hint about the grease.
Is this something that can safely be done by the user, or would opening the gearbox and replacing the grease usually be considered a warranty case where it’s better to contact Aqara support first?

Hi, in my case it happens with and without the auto‑closing assist enabled.
Subjectively, it seems to happen a bit more often when the assist is active, but I can reproduce the slow movement in both situations.

Then definitely contact the support service (warranty).

it will void warranty, there is safety sticker, but it’s easy to do if you don’t mind to void warranty

Since my lock is still under warranty, I will get it replaced under the warranty process.
