U200: stops working with Homekit after a couple of months

I don’t think I’m alone with this problem. I’ve looked through the various possible fixes and I’m totally confused. The lock still works OK through the Aqara app, its matter code is showing in Apple iOS, but in Homekit it is permanently unavailable. I deleted it from HomeKit and tried to reconnect… it tries for about 3 minutes and then says it can’t connect. I’ve removed the battery from the lock for a few minutes and tried again - same problem. I went to the ‘connected ecosystems’ and it shows, the Aqara Home hub, Apple Keychain and Apple Homekit - but I’m reluctant to delete anything there as I have several Aqara cameras linked to Homekit which are working just fine.
In the Aqara app, if I go Profile>Connect to Ecosystems>Apple Home>Homekit devices, my cameras show up but there is no sign of the U200: also, there is a greyed-out Aqara hub that says ‘can not be bound’… clicking on that flags up a window: ‘The device cannot be bound to Aqara Home. Please contact customer service.’ Help please!

First, check the batteries, maybe they are dead.

If you want to bind it to an Aqara hub, it needs to be paired to the Aqara app first. Remove the device from iOS Settings > General > Matter devices. Then try removing it and adding again in the Aqara app.

Then you should be able to bind it to a hub (as long as you are in the bluetooth range of the lock). Then try using “Connect to other ecosystems” and connect to HomeKit

Hi Cezary, thanks, I’ve followed your advice and removed the lock from Aqara and deleted the iOS matter connection. Now it won’t connect to either Aqara or Homekit. I’ve tried resetting with the button, but to no avail. How do I contact technical support, please

You can contact support by email - support@aqara.com

I think you can also try to hard reset the lock. Unlock the door, remove the cover (you should see the battery). Hold the reset button for 10 seconds, let go when the light flashing stops. You should hear a sound - the lock is reset.

Thanks again for the feedback. Pressing the reset button for 10 seconds doesn’t seem to do anything, but according to the instructions, a hard reset is possible by pressing & holding the lock and tick buttons for a few seconds on the outside keypad. I found that this works to reset everything. I have now finally restored the connections both to Aqara and Homekit… but what a pain as I’ve lost all the fingerprint & calibration settings.

Hi,
How do you make the full reset?
When you press the keypad, do you hear any voice message?
When you open the Aqara app , does it appear with Magic Pair?
