Hi everyone,
I recently bought the Aqara Smart Lock U200 and overall I’m very happy with it. Installation was straightforward and the lock has been working well so far.
I do have two questions:
- Is there any plan to allow fingerprint access only during specific time slots? At the moment, it seems possible to set schedules for some access methods, but not for fingerprints. Is this something that might be added in a future update?
- I’m using remote access through Matter with the M3 Hub. I noticed that many settings and user management functions cannot be changed remotely because the keypad needs to be activated first. Is there another way to manage these settings remotely, or are there plans to improve this in a future firmware/software update?
My goal is to fully manage access and users for my home remotely, but the current options seem somewhat limited.
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Hi, I’m not the dev so I don’t know about any future updates, but this lock has worked like this (needing keypad activation) since the release I think.
The M3 allows you to set a remote periodic password without needing the keypad activation.
If you want to manage access remotely, then you can use Apple Home for that. When you add or remove resident or guest to/from your home, then they will automatically gain access to the lock. And no need to activate the keypad.
The only downside is you cannot configure fingerprints in Apple Home.
What is your use case for disabling fingerprints? Maybe we can figure something out.

Hi @mark_kingma
For 2. unfortunately the U200 needs that Bluetooth connection to allow changing the settings- we already discussed this many times with the developers / engineers but there’s no solution. Maybe the next generation will have resources to allow that by remote over the app , without being logged in by BT

Thanks both for the reply!
I would like to make use of fingerprint access for the kids; they bring friends home and I don’t want their friends to peek at the code and get access too. In terms of restriction of access during certain timeslots: I don’t want the stepkids to access the house alone when we are on holiday or the day away. In short: I would like to set up the lock so that I can remotely control when a fingerprint is active or not (instead of a temporary code).
