U400 constantly goes unresponsive in HomeKit

I need some help. I have a fairly complex Unifi network at my house. Multiple Apple TV 4K, one of which is selected as my Home Hub and is a few feet from this lock, it is hardwired. Also multiple HomePods. Another 75 or so smart home devices which all work quite flawlessly. I replaced the Level Lock with the U400 and I am really struggling. This things goes unresponsive every couple of days, then setup seems faulty and I by some miracle happens to connect, usually.

Am I alone in these struggles? What can I do to get this to work reliably? This isn’t a colored lightbulb it’s an essential device that I need to be able to count on.

Thank you

Hello @mitchoakes
Is your lock freezing and unresponsive? Please describe in more detail how it’s behaving. What’s the lock’s status in Aqara Home if you’ve added it to the Aqara app?

I’m also having similar issues.

I was having the same issue when setting up the U400 to the M3 hub. The hub was kind of far away from the U400 lock but it was connecting. So I was thinking it was just too far away from the hub so I bought an M100 hub and connected it to that. That was in February and I have not had one problem since

I’m having the same issue. The Aqara app works perfectly fine, but Apple HomeKit shows the U400 lock as unresponsive. It seems to go back and forth between responding and being unresponsive every few hours.

Hi there, as this issue has already been resolved with our support team via email, we’ll be closing this topic on the forum as well. If you have any further questions or run into any other issues, please feel free to reply directly to our support email. Thanks for your support and understanding!

This issue is not resolved ! A lot of your customers are saying the same thing over and over. Why hasn’t Aqara fixed this ?

@cristianflores4 I completely understand your frustration, and you’re definitely not alone in feeling this way. Having a smart lock become unresponsive is particularly concerning since it’s such an essential security device in your home setup.

While we do have some general troubleshooting steps for HomeKit connectivity issues with other Aqara devices (like updating firmware, restarting hubs, and checking network connections), the U400 lock specifically experiencing HomeKit unresponsiveness isn’t covered in our current troubleshooting documentation.

Since this appears to be a persistent issue affecting multiple users, I’d recommend reaching out to our support team directly for personalized assistance. They can better investigate your specific setup and escalate the issue appropriately.

@cristianflores4 I hear you, and I totally get where you’re coming from. When it’s a security device like a smart lock, reliability isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential. Having it go unresponsive every couple of days is definitely frustrating, especially when the rest of your 75+ device setup is running smoothly.

You’re right that this shouldn’t come down to individual tickets when it appears to be a broader pattern. While I don’t have specific information about U400 firmware update timelines in my current resources, your feedback about needing a software fix is valuable and worth escalating through the proper channels.

For issues like this that may require product team attention, the most effective path is still to work with the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:
