I recently purchased and installed the new U400, there is a update for the product but the update keeps failing, any ideas how to push updates through?

@asnoddy11 I’m sorry to hear about the firmware update issue with your U400 door lock! Let’s try some troubleshooting steps that might help get the update through. First, make sure your Aqara app is updated to the latest version. Then, try pulling out the battery and reinserting it to reset the lock temporarily. During the update process, it’s important to turn off the “display sleep” function on your phone—keep your phone near the lock and awake on the update screen to avoid interruptions. Also, ensure the lock has sufficient battery power, as low battery can cause update failures. If the problem persists, you can try restarting your router and the lock, then attempt the update again.

This information comes from community discussions and user experience summaries and may vary by environment. Please verify carefully. If these steps don’t work, feel free to contact the Aqara Home App Customer Service Team (Profile> Help & Feedback > Customer Service) or scan the QR code:

This will be more efficient. If you do not have an Aqara Home account, “Please click here” to create a ticket.

Are you using the firmware page in settings to update? Sometimes when that fails I go to the device and check the firmware in the settings page of the actual device. 9/10 it goes through for me

Thanks, Ben. Appreciate the clarification. This is a known issue, and we expect it to be resolved in a future app update. When you try to update the U400 firmware via Profile → Firmware Update, the upgrade may fail.
For now, please go to Smart Lock U400 → Tap “…” to enter U400 settings→ Firmware Update to update your firmware instead. To update the Smart Lock U400 firmware in Aqara Home app, Bluetooth must be connected.
