When I enter my house and the UWB unlocks the lock, when I use the interior lock knob to lock the door it is hard to turn like the motor mechanism is engaged.
This is not a door jam issue, all is smooth.
The lock turns freely unless after an unlock, what is the issue here?
Sometimes (I’ve experienced it with other locks) the motor spins and it feels like a lot of pressure was put on the opening of the door. I have recalibrated and have them work better. I’ve also had one that I had to make more room for the deadbolt to sit better (extend fully)in the door frame.
Hopefully other have had experience with this issue and can add more input.
Thank you for the explanation, Ben. We do recommend recalibrating the lock in the Aqara Home app and in addition, could you please share a video of the door knob after unlocking so we can further assist you?
I’m having a similar issue. After I come inside and the door auto-locks, the lock is hard to turn. Like OP said, it’s the motor engaging - it’s not the deadbolt.
If I manually unlock it once, it becomes smooth thereafter until the next time it auto-locks.
To update this, I returned the unit I had and got a new one. Installed and working great, so could be defective or maybe they can make a firmware adjustment but new unit working great.
3.1.0.4 for the firmware. I am using HomeKit. If it’s not an issue to return it I would as I did that and the new lock is much better. Turning the lock dial is butter smooth with no tension.
I think the only time I noticed it was when I interrupted an auto lock so the motor was engaged at the time.
hrm… strange… Im going to be sending mine back and trying with a new one. maybe its the firmware ? i have a feeling its software related, like the device gets into some weird state - i tried reseting the thing, removing it from apple home (which made it almost impossible to add it back in later)… i love the product, but man, there are some major quality issues with Aqara. they seem to be pumping out the products but i question their Quality assurance. (and yes, I work in the QA industry)… lol
It will if that happens but this was happening after every Auto Unlock. It’s like the motor was engaged to do an Auto Unlock but that was not turned on at the time.
