U50 slowly getting less responsive

I’ve had the U50 smart lock for almost 2 years now, and for most of that time, I’ve had no issues! Worked flawlessly! But about 3 months ago, I’ve noticed that slowly, its been getting less responsive… Now it’s to the point where it’s almost unusable.

The 2 main ways both my roommate and I use the lock is either the keypad or Apple Home Key. However in both instances, it takes a few seconds for the device to wake up. Then on top of that, once the device does wake up, it takes forever to recognize any input (both keypad touches or Apple Home Key devices).

Occasionally, the lock will work and respond like normal, but most of the time, we just end up having to resort to a physical key… which defeats the purpose of why I bought the lock in the first place.

A couple weeks ago I decided to factory reset it and repair it to my M3 hub, and for a few days, it was working normally again! But now it’s starting to get less responsive again.

One thing of note, I also have the lock in Home Assistant via the matter bridge using my M3 hub. And I noticed after resetting and repairing the device, now every entity for the U50 shows up 3 times (screenshots attached), with 2 of those being “unavailable”

Anybody know why the lock is acting this way? Any fixes? I was already planning on upgrading to the U400 prior to these issues, but I haven’t been able to afford the upgrade (and probably wont for a few more months).

Those greyed out entities are old stale entities that aren’t coming into Home Assistant anyone. Presumably the reset etc changed the ID of the Matter entities HA is picking up and it created new ones.

It’ll be safe to delete the old one since they’re no longer active, but any automations etc you have will need to changed over to the new entities since they’ll not be working currently.
