Is anyone here using any of the Aqara locks in the UK with multi point locking doors e.g. front or back double glazed doors? Doing a home refurb and am toying with getting the locking mechanisms use Aqara smart locks.
I’ve got the Aqara U200 on my back door that has a multi point lock. It’s connected to both the Aqara app and to HomeAssistant via Matter. I;ve had it about a year and haven’t run into any problems yet.
That is interesting, did you just fit it over the existing lock or is it integrated into the door? How does it cope with the fact that the lever has to first be pushed upwards to engage the locking levers?
I was about to ask the same question in a new post. I’ve tried to work out what to do to our door/lock to install the U200. I’m not really sure where to begin.
Also, I wondered whether fitting a smart lock would meet building regs in the UK/Scotland and/or meet standards in normal insurance policies.
I fitted it over the existing lock. The body of my lock is fairly thin so it might be a struggle with a different handle body shape on different locks.
It does rely on the handle being pushed upwards after the door is closed, we generally do that automatically anyway so it’s not been an issue for us. If the handle isn’t raised it fails to lock but will lock fine once the hendle has been raised.
All the home/business insurance policies in England I’ve come across specify a five leaver lock, but that’s a type of key mechanism.
