hi, I am new to this smart home thing. Recently I bought an Aqara M200 hub. Was able to connect it to Aqara Home app on an android app, and also added an IR device using the learning method. The IR controls works in the Aqara Home app.
However, I want to integrate this hub and the IR controls into Google Home, but everytime I tried to add into Google Home, it says “You need a hub for Matter to set up and control with Google Home.”
Does it mean I need actual Google device for it to integrate into Google Home?

Hi there and welcome to the forum.yes you need one of this devices in order to add the M200 or any other matter devices to google home app

-Google Nest Hub (1st gen) (as a Matter controller, though it lacks a built-in Thread border router)

-Google Nest Audio
-Google Nest Mini (2nd gen)

Streaming Devices:
-Google TV Streamer (4K)
And if you do not want to buy such device then just use it from Aqara home app.
