Hi all, I just wanted to share a bit of my experience with managing hub logs, something I recently discovered can be really helpful in maintaining a stable smart home setup. A few weeks ago, my system, which had been running smoothly for over a year, suddenly started acting up. Devices would disconnect, and some of my routines wouldn’t trigger as expected. At first, I was a bit puzzled, but then I remembered hearing about checking the hub logs as a diagnostic tool.
I decided to give it a shot. To my surprise, the logs were filled with red ‘error’ tags, which were pretty concerning. I reset the hub, and everything seemed to go back to normal. But I wanted to make sure this wasn’t a one-off, so I kept an eye on the logs. Now, instead of errors, I mostly see white ‘info’ tags and some blue ‘debug’ ones scattered throughout. It’s reassuring to see that the devices are functioning properly now.
I’m still a bit unsure about what a ‘normal’ log should look like, though. Are those blue debug messages something to worry about, or are they just there to provide more detailed information? I’d love to hear from others who might have more experience with interpreting logs. Do you check your logs regularly? What’s a good way to stay proactive about potential issues?
It’s been a great learning experience, and I’m glad I took the time to look into this. It definitely gives me more confidence in troubleshooting any future hiccups in my setup. Thanks for sharing your insights! ![]()
