Hi everyone, I’m trying to wrap my head around something a bit puzzling. I have a ZigBee switch and a ZigBee outlet, both recognized by Zigbee2MQTT and visible in MQTT as devices. However, when I check the MQTT overview, there are no automations listed for these devices. Despite this, I somehow managed to set it up so that the outlet turns on and off when I toggle the switch! It’s been working perfectly for about a year, but I can’t remember how I did it.
I’m using Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi, and as far as I know, there are no other instances or alternative control methods for these ZigBee devices. I’ve scoured through the automation and scenes sections, but there’s no trace of any rules involving these devices.
Could someone explain how this is happening? Is there a way to find or understand the automation that’s controlling these devices without explicitly setting it up? I’m a bit confused but also curious to learn more about how Home Assistant handles such setups. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!
