Hey everyone, I wanted to share an interesting observation I’ve had with my Wyzecam Pan V3. While it’s been a reliable camera for me, I’ve noticed two peculiar behaviors that I’m curious if others have encountered or might be able to shed some light on.
First, I’ve found that if I move the camera too quickly during panning—for example, swiping multiple times in quick succession—the camera tends to freeze and go offline. While it’s not a huge issue since I’ve learned to be more patient with the movements, it’s still something that catches my attention. I’d love to know if there’s a way to prevent this or if it’s just a quirk of the device.
Second, and perhaps more intriguing, is the fact that the camera continues to record to the SD card even when it’s offline. When I return to playback, the footage from the offline period plays back at about 10x speed. It’s almost like the camera is trying to catch up or compress the recording during that time. I’ve noticed that if I start playback just before the camera went offline, there’s a seamless transition to the sped-up footage, and then after a power cycle, it goes back to normal playback. While this isn’t ideal for precise timing, it’s been somewhat helpful to review the offline period quickly. I wish there was an option to toggle this feature on or off, but I’m not sure if that’s feasible.
Has anyone else experienced these behaviors? I’d love to hear if others have noticed similar things or if there are any workarounds or insights. It’s always great to learn from the community’s experiences!
Cheers,
