Hey ,
Share some Aqara automation gems I’ve been using that really made my smart home feel… well, smarter. I’m no tech guru, just a smart home hobbyist who’s gone way too deep down the rabbit hole. Thought I’d drop my top 5 favorite automations in case it sparks some ideas for you all too:
-
Bathroom Humidity Trigger: Got a humidity sensor and slapped it in the bathroom. When the shower makes it rise above 70%, the exhaust fan kicks in automatically. No more foggy mirrors or gross lingering steam.
-
“I’m Home” Scene: NFC tag by the front door. One tap, and boom—lights turn on just right, AC kicks in, and my chill playlist starts. Feels like the house is happy to see me.
-
Sleep Mode Magic: Motion sensor in the hallway + bedtime shortcut. If there’s no movement for 15 mins past midnight, Aqara shuts off all lights, cuts the AC, and locks the door via smart lock. Super handy when I doze off on the couch.
-
Sunlight Wake-up: Paired the curtain motor with light sensors. Curtains open automatically when it gets bright outside. Surprisingly pleasant to wake up to natural light instead of a buzzing phone alarm.
-
Door/Window God Mode: Window sensor + heater = win. If I pop open the balcony door, heater turns off immediately. No more heating the whole city accidentally.
These little tweaks honestly feel like having a personal assistant at home. Anyone got other clever setups with Aqara? Curious to hear what y’all have cooked up!
Cheers!
