Hey ,
Share a little win I’ve had lately with the Aqara Door and Window Sensors. Honestly, didn’t think they’d be game changers at first… but wow, I’ve squeezed way more out of them than I expected.
Originally got them just to get notified if someone sneaks into the backyard gate. But then I started playing around in the Aqara app and started linking them to lights, alarms, and even my camera automation. Now, when someone opens the garage after 10PM, my hallway lights pop on, the camera starts recording, and I get a push ping — all in one swift move.
Also added a neat trick: when all windows are confirmed closed and it’s bedtime mode, my AC kicks in. Kinda helps keep the cooling efficient without wasting electricity.
Feels less like just a simple sensor now and more like the silent MVP of the whole smart home setup. Anyone else making the most of these little guys? Keen to hear your creative setups!
