So I’ve been slowly building my smart home over the past year, and lemme just say—pairing Aqara gear with Apple HomeKit has been way smoother than I expected.
I started off small with a Hub M2 and a couple of door/window sensors. Literally had them talking to HomeKit within minutes. What really surprised me though is how solid the automations are. Like, when I unlock my front door, the entryway lights pop on and the thermostat adjusts all before I even step inside. It’s giving future vibes, seriously.
And the best part? No monthly fees. I’m running scenes like “Movie Night” that dim all the lights and close the curtains, and I didn’t need a degree in rocket science to set it up.
Siri’s actually usable now too. “Hey Siri, goodnight” locks my doors, turns off lights, and starts the camera monitoring. One command, total peace of mind.
Still figuring out how deep I can go with the motion sensors and camera triggers — but loving the process so far. Anyone else running mostly Aqara + HomeKit? Curious what cool stuff y’all have cooked up.
