Hello everyone
It’s my turn to share some cool automation with you.
I’ll tell you a little about automation and why it was created.
In March last year, I had to go on an urgent business trip, and the next day was my son’s birthday. Plans to give the gift to my son personally failed. My son really loves surprises and quests, so I decided to create a quest for him using smart home devices from Aqara. Looking ahead, I will say that in the end, everything turned out better than I could have imagined ). It took about a few hours to program all this, download the necessary files, upload them to the devices, and here’s what happened:
- My son wakes up in the morning and usually turns on the light + opens the curtains with a wireless button by the bed. But the light doesn’t turn on, the curtains don’t open, and instead a voice says from the M3 Hub in the nursery: “Hello Matvey! I want to play a game with you! =)) Today our smart home has gone crazy, and in order to survive you will have to complete my tasks. The reward will be what you want most. You have 10 minutes to get a gift
. Now run to the kitchen, I hid a leak sensor there, you urgently need to find it and dip it in a glass of water.”
Of course, my son guessed that his dad had prepared a surprise for him)
Then on the m3 hub in the children’s room the timer starts ticking (I found the sound on the Internet),
On the way to the Kitchen the G2h camera in the hallway detected movement and the S1 plus panel
says "there is less and less time!!! (I downloaded it through the panel settings)
The son ran into the kitchen, found the sensor and dropped it into a glass of water. I watched his actions on cameras located in each room.
- After the leak sensor was triggered, the G3 camera in the kitchen gave the task “urgently raise the temperature simultaneously on two wireless sensors”, which were in the children’s room at different ends of the room.
My son ran to look for the temperature sensors and began to breathe on them )))))
He raised the temperature and humidity at the same time - The downloaded melody worked again, but this time on the G5 hub in the children’s room and gave the next task.
- "Run urgently to the dressing room and knock on the shoe boxes to activate the vibration sensors that I hid there (finally the sensors came in handy)))) According to the scenario, both sensors needed to work at once, so the child pounded all the boxes at the same time as best he could))) It’s a pity there is no camera there =).
After the triggers worked - the G4 call in the hallway said (again the downloaded user melody helped) that the next task was to go to the bathroom, press the mini button and freeze, wait until the motion sensor stops recording movement. The son stood rooted to the spot)) (it seems he didn’t even breathe). Everything worked out, and again the S1 panel near the bathtub in the hallway said that there was very little time and he urgently needed to take the Aqara cube on the balcony and run with it to the living room and turn it counterclockwise (unfortunately there is only one cube)
- After these actions, the Happy Birthday melody started playing on another M3 hub in the living room, the LED strip with iridescent light turned on, after 40 seconds the melody ended and the M3 hub said where the gift and card were.
My son was very pleased and remembered this quest for a long time.
This is the surprise I made for my child on his birthday
using Aqara devices and their automation in the Aqara home application.
In automation I used devices
- Aqara Hub M3 - 2
- Aqara Camera Hub G3 - 1
- Aqara Camera Hub G2H - 1
- Aqara Camera Hub G5 Pro - 1
- Aqara Panel Hub S1 Plus EU - 1
- Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 - 1
- Aqara Wireless Mini Switch - 2
- Aqara Cube - 1
- Aqara Temperature and Humidity Sensor - 2
- Aqara Water Leak Sensor - 1
- Aqara Vibration Sensor - 2
- Aqara Motion Sensor - 1
- Aqara LED Strip T1 - 1
Here you can convert the voice acting that I used in automations (mp3 files)
The melodies I used (Language RU):
I hope you like my idea and you will use this automation to congratulate or play a prank on your loved ones.
See you on the forum, friends.
