Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my Raspberry Pi from the 4th generation to the brand new Pi 5. It’s been an exciting experience so far, but I’ve hit a snag with backing up my smart home setup. I’ve tried restoring from my backup multiple times, but the system freezes every time. I suspect it might have something to do with DuckDNS and the fact that my Home Assistant instance is currently only accessible via HTTP without a certificate.
Here’s what happens: during the backup restore, my smart lights flicker on as if the system is trying to load everything, but it never completes. After a while, I can’t even access Home Assistant through the browser, not even by IP address. I end up having to start fresh each time, which is frustrating.
I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered similar issues or has any tips on how to resolve this. Maybe there’s a setting I’m missing or a workaround for the DuckDNS and HTTP setup? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing from you all!
Best regards,
Jörn
