I decided to leverage my smart home devices to make this process as seamless as possible. First, I set up my Wyze video doorbell to monitor the front entrance. It’s been a lifesaver, allowing me to check in on my pets and ensure everything is secure. I also integrated my Govee smart plugs to control lighting and appliances remotely, giving the illusion that someone is home even when I’m away. Another feature I’ve been exploring is the water leak sensor from SmartThings. I placed it in the basement near the wall that occasionally gets damp during heavy rains. I was curious if it would trigger on wet carpet, and I’m relieved to find that it does, providing peace of mind. If it detects any leaks, I’ve programmed it to turn on a dehumidifier automatically. I also experimented with my RGB phone case, which adds a fun touch to my daily routine. It charges wirelessly and lights up, making it a practical and stylish accessory. For my vacation, I’ve set up a few automations to ensure everything runs smoothly. The lights will turn on and off at random times, and my thermostat will adjust to save energy. I’m also using the Homey app to monitor everything from afar. Overall, integrating these smart devices has made planning for my vacation much easier. It’s amazing how technology can enhance convenience and security. I can’t wait to enjoy my trip with the confidence that my home is well taken care of!
