Recently, I’ve been experiencing some stability issues with my Vera 3 running UI5. It’s been working flawlessly for years, but over the past few months, it’s been locking up and becoming unresponsive. I noticed that when I try to send any command to a device, I get a ‘sending Z-Wave command’ message followed by ‘waiting for node to reply’ five times, and then a ‘red timed out waiting for node to reply’ error. This is frustrating because it disrupts my daily routine and makes it difficult to control my smart home devices.
After some research and troubleshooting, I found that rebooting Vera temporarily fixes the issue. However, it only works for a few days before the problem resurfaces. I’m wondering if this could be related to a recent firmware update or if there’s a deeper issue with the Z-Wave network.
I reached out to the community for advice, and some suggested checking the firmware version and ensuring all devices are up to date. Others recommended resetting the Z-Wave network or updating the Vera’s firmware to the latest version. I’m considering trying these steps to see if they resolve the issue.
If anyone has experienced similar problems or has any additional suggestions, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Let’s work together to get Vera back to its reliable best! ![]()
