Vera Edge Dimmer Linking and Sensor Issues

I’ve recently made the switch from my old Raspberry Pi + Razberry setup to the Vera Edge, and overall, I’m pretty happy with the transition. Most things are working smoothly, but there’s one thing that’s been bugging me. I used to be able to link two dimmers together on my old system, so when I set one to 50% using the wall button, the other one would follow suit. I assumed Vera Edge would allow something similar, but I just can’t figure out how to set it up. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? I’d really appreciate some guidance!

Another issue I’ve encountered is with my Aeon Labs door/window sensors. I started with a few non-secure (green light) sensors and was happy with their reliability. However, after reading about secure inclusion (blue light), I decided to switch all my sensors to secure mode. Now, I’m facing a bunch of problems. Some sensors show as “unavailable” and only come back online temporarily when I trigger them. Others are draining their batteries much faster than before—what used to last months now barely makes it through a week. One door sensor even thinks it’s open when it’s closed, and I have to reopen and close it to fix the status.

I’m curious if there’s a significant difference between secure and non-secure modes beyond encryption. The user guide mentions more functionality with secure inclusion, but as far as I can tell, these sensors only report open/close status and battery life, which they do in both modes. I’m also wondering if reverting to non-secure mode would restore the reliability I had before. The oldest sensors seem to have fewer issues, while the newer ones are giving me more trouble. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with these sensors, or is this something unique to my setup?

I’d love to hear from anyone who has insights or solutions. Are these issues widespread, or am I just unlucky? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
