Vera Edge & Fibaro 3 in 1 Sensor Reliability

I recently installed a Fibaro 3 in 1 sensor alongside my Vera Edge system, and it’s been a fascinating experience. Initially, everything worked seamlessly—every movement detection triggered an SMS alert, which was incredibly convenient. However, after deciding not to use the sensor for a few weeks, I noticed something peculiar. Despite the sensor being inactive and without a battery, Vera Edge occasionally shows ‘movement detected’ alerts. This is intriguing because the sensor isn’t even powered or in use.

While it’s not a major inconvenience, it does make me question the reliability of Vera Edge when combined with this device. If the system is generating false positives, how can I be certain that real alerts are genuine? This is especially important since I planned to use the sensor to trigger both internal and external sirens.

I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues and how they resolved them. Have you experienced unexpected alerts from inactive sensors? How do you ensure your system’s accuracy and reliability? I’d love to hear your insights and experiences!
