Hey everyone, I’m trying to figure out a clever way to visualize the status of my bathroom light in Lovelace. I haven’t installed a smart bulb yet, but I know exactly when the light is on because it’s on the same circuit as my Sonos One speaker. When the Sonos is unavailable, the light is off, and when it’s available, the light is on. Pretty neat, right?
My question is, is there an elegant way to create a sensor.bathroom entity that doesn’t actually exist but can be displayed as a light bulb in Lovelace? I know how to do this as a binary sensor, but I’d love it to show up as a light bulb alongside my other “real” lights. Maybe using MQTT or Node-RED could work since I have a broker available. Any smart ideas out there?
I’m also wondering if there’s a way to make this integration more seamless. For example, could I use a template sensor or a custom card to achieve this? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Thanks in advance for any suggestions. ![]()
