Hi Aqara,
Do you have a plan to add W100 sensor as a temperature sensor for AC devices in a AC control operation on M3 hub? It must be a good option for all who using W100 as a remote controller for AC devices.
Hello. W100 can be tied to M3. And then on M3 choose the air conditioner you need. If you have W100+M3+air conditioner then try it yourself. I don’t have air conditioners at home that’s why I’m writing this to you.
It’s true just for setting up the RC but it doesn’t allow you to use w100 as the temperature sensor for this AC
Now try to make automation using this air conditioner. What blanks are in the screen saver IF, drop a screenshot because I’m also curious🙂
I’ve been experimenting with the W100 + M3 setup for a while now, and adding the W100 as a dedicated temperature sensor for AC control would definitely make the automation smoother. Right now, the M3 recognizes the W100 as a remote controller, but it doesn’t fully use the onboard temperature readings for smarter cooling decisions.
In Singapore, where precise cooling control matters, many homeowners rely on Aircon Servicing to optimize airflow and placement of sensors, because even a few degrees of inaccuracy can make the AC work harder than it should. That’s why having the option to sync the W100’s temperature data directly with the M3 would be a useful upgrade.
If you haven’t done it yet, try pairing the W100 to the M3 again and check under the automation section, sometimes the temperature trigger appears depending on the AC model. A quick screenshot of your IF conditions (like the second reply mentioned) would help everyone here figure out what’s missing. I’m also curious whether your AC brand supports full IR temperature reporting through the M3.
Hopefully the developers consider adding this feature officially, because it seems like a logical next step for those of us using W100 as the main controller.
