Fistly, I’m new to aqara products and have enjoyed setting up all of the new products that I have, all beside the w100 - as it is making me scratch my head a lot.
I have my AC ir programed in my m3 and I’ve added the w100 to my m3 hub and I’ve also programed my buttons to do the following, + to up the temp - one press, - to drop the temp - one press, middle button one press - turn on/off. I’m not sure that I need to have any other device here, but I cannot get the AC to turn off or on but I can hear a beep from the ac when I press the +or - buttons only. Maybe this m3/w100 cannot turn off the ac as I know that the middle button controls the options on the w100, so I’ve tried long press, double press and still no results.
What am I missing?
I just want the w100 to act as replacement of my ac remote - is this not what it is intended to do?
I’ve removed this accessory from the hub and reset the w100 a few times and I still get the same result.
@kevin13 Hey there! Thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience with setting up the Aqara W100. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble getting it to work as a replacement for your AC remote.
From what you’ve described, it sounds like you’ve got most of the setup correct. However, it’s important to note that the Aqara Climate Sensor W100 doesn’t support connecting the IR devices that match to the M2 hub and the G3 camera hub. So, it’s possible that this is why you’re not able to turn your AC on or off using the W100 .
As for the buttons on the W100, here’s how they’re supposed to work:
button
Interaction
Function
Remark
Up key
Click
Increase target setting temperature/Switching Mode/Increase the fan speed
Whether wind speed adjustment is supported depends on the device report
Long press for 2 seconds
Switch to the main control device
Triggers after reaching 2 seconds, No need to wait for release.
Middle button
Click
Switch to thermostat/Switching Mode/Toggle wind speed setting
Long press for 2 seconds
On/Off
Down key
Click
Lower the target setting temperature/Switching Mode/Reduce the fan speed
It’s also possible that there’s an issue with the IR programming in your M3 hub. Have you tried testing the IR commands on your AC using the M3 hub without the W100 connected? This could help you determine if the issue is with the W100 or the M3 hub.
I hope this helps! If you’re still having trouble, I encourage you to continue the discussion here in the forum. Hello, welcome to the forum.
First of all, check the automation for serviceability. Having opened your automation On/Off air conditioner (for example), at the end there is an automation launch item. Click and test the launch. Also, you may not have added the W100 to some thermostat in the house, if so, it loses the ability to use pressing (single, double and long)
I can control the ac unit from my phone (on/off - temp up/down - etc.) without any issue and I’ve removed the W100 from my aqara app.
I’m going to add in the W100 now to see if this can work.
II added via zigbee and I see my issue! I didnt add the ac unit as the thermostat and once I did that, I was able to use the button presses listed above.
