Hi all, recently acquired 2 W200’s, a W100 and a T7H T1…loving them so far but have an issue with trying to use a preset mode and an alternate data source. Heating system is natural gas boiler with 2 zones (Taco valve control board).
Desire is to have the W200 use the W100 temperature (which is paired directly to the W200 via Zigbee but is NOT connected to the thermostat…want to use the buttons for HA automations) as the target at night to better control the bedroom temp. The W200 is in a hallway and the W100 is in the bedroom.
In the Aqara app I am able to go to the W200, select Set Data Source and in the Manually Choose Device(s) section select the W100 and it instantly changes the actual temp reading on the W200 as well as in HA…this is verified because the bedroom temp is 2 degrees cooler and as you switch between the W200 and the W100 as the source, the temp changes.
I then went to Preset Modes, selected Sleep and used Set Data Source to select the W100, I enabled Schedule Management and then created 2 schedule entries to turn on Sleep at 9p and turn on Home at 8a.
When sleep mode activates, the temp reading does not change to the W100 temp…all of the screens indicate the W100 is selected but the temp change confirmed in the manual process does not occur when the sleep preset is activate. I confirmed the screen showed the Sleep mode was active and I also manually selected schedules but the temp stays on the W200 device reading. I also tried this same process with a virtual sensor (2 - 3rd party sensors averaging) and noticed the same behavior…the W200 never changed to the other temp reading.
Has anyone come across this…known bug perhaps or am I missing a step? Any other ideas as to tests I could run to validate? As I mentioned above, making this change in manual mode works perfectly, I just have to do that every evening and change it back in the morning.
Thanks in advance for any help. I have found some other interesting things in testing the W100 in Matter/Thread vs Zigbee but will make separate post for that. Very cool items…!
