W200 Thermostat upper and lower temperature limits

Can you set an upper and lower limit on the W200 thermostat so it can toggle between heat and air conditioning? Or do you have to set it one or the other?

Yes, you can set an upper and lower limit simultaneously on the Aqara Thermostat Hub W200 to automatically toggle between heating and cooling.

When you are in Auto Mode, both heating and cooling are active at the same time. You will see a dual setpoint on your screen allowing you to adjust both your minimum heating temperature and maximum cooling temperature.

The W200 enforces a mandatory minimum temperature gap (deadband) of 3°F between your heating and cooling set points. For example, if your heat is set to 68°F, you won’t be able to set your air conditioning lower than 71°F. (I think it’s 3°) it was 5° but the latest software update changed that range.

This built-in limit prevents your HVAC system from short-cycling or constantly bouncing back and forth between heating and cooling if your house temperature fluctuates slightly.

Hope that helps

Thank you that helps a lot.

Based on what I understand the W200 can normally do an automatic switch between heat and cool (if your HVAC system is capable), so you can set an upper and lower limit for the temp. You should never have to switch from heat to cool.
