Water Leak Sensor Disconnections

I have a couple of the water leak sensors (non thread) and a few times a day I get a notification that the one of the devices is offline. It’s always the one in my garage by the water heater. I’ve tried replacing the sensor (thought maybe it was faulty) and also adding a hub on the other side of the wall (~3 feet away). Anyone have ideas what could be causing this or ways to remedy it? Thanks

Hello, after connecting the gateway to a new location, do the following. If possible, turn off the lights in the house. Power up the gateway and the Internet and reconnect the leak sensor. This manipulation will allow you to directly connect the leak sensor to the gateway. If you do not have the opportunity to do the above, then simply reconnect the leak sensor to the gateway that you moved closer.

You might think I am crazy, but did you check the USB power supply requirements? I was using a M3 hub with 3 sensors that kept annoying me going offline frequently. After a lot of troubleshooting, I found that the M3 hub requires 2 Amp/5V power, but the USB brick I used was only 1 Amp. It seemed to work fine most of the time, but with frequent disconnects. The Aqara app only blamed the WiFi signal…

I’ll give this a try, but everything else seems to be fine, but my water sensors they seem to disconnect often. There’s no updates for them.

Hope it helps. Mine were disconnecting at least 5-7 times a day. I had disabled the alerts and was ready to toss them.
The whole purpose of having them is to be notified of potential major issue - they need to be reliable.

Update - so I moved the hub out into the garage, still about the same distance but now there is no wall in the way. Haven’t gotten a disconnect in a day or two. So maybe the wall (or water heater) were interfering with the signal. Either way, it seems to be improved for now. Thanks all for the ideas

Hi, read my comment, it also relates to your topic. Can I add more than 1 hub to the same system? - #8 by gafich10
