Water Leak sensors frequent disconnects

As is being discussed on Reddit right now, for about the past month I am seeing daily disconnects of my water leak sensors. Lasts for a few minutes - hour or so. All of them doing it at different times.

This happened previously and I fixed it by replacing the batteries. Did that this time but has not helped. These are non-T1 versions. I purchased a few T1 versions and those have not disconnected since installation.

The Zigbee signals are reported as adequate to excellent and there’s been no change in location of sensors or hubs.

Has there been a recent change on Aqara’s end that could be causing this? I’ve turned off notifications from the app so I don’t keep getting pinged when they go offline.

Same here, except the issue is limited to the Aqara app. Apple’s Home does not report any issues.

Hello!
I apologize in advance for writing with Google Translate.
Aqara Water leak sensor is 9 meters from Aqara Hub M1S Gen2. The signal strength is very weak, there is a 15cm reinforced concrete partition wall between them.
It has a new element.
What solution is there to increase the signal strength?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards,
József

I have similar issues, I have 6 water sensors and they all lose connection, some I have to reinsert the battery to reconnect. I have 2 hubs, all have good signal strength, seems to be a device or firmware issue imo.

Similar issue here. I’ve replaced all batteries - every sensor from 1m to 15m away from the M2 hub are disconnecting regularly and sending notifications in the Aqara app. Has been going for months now.

hi!
I have 1 hub and 10 sensors, 9 of which work, 1 does not.
You have 2 hubs, how do you pair them?

Same. Issues all in the Aqara app. I even did an experiment putting the sensor right next to the hub (camera g2h) and the disconnects keep happening.

Noting from my logs this all began after about Jan 1, 2026

I have the M3 hub as the main one which all sensors were originally connected to. When I started getting drops, I bought a M100 hub and placed it closer to two of the sensors, but they both experience random disconnects and have a direct line of of sight between hub & sensors. I have made sure I am always on the latest firmware. Sometimes restarting a hub helps, but most of the time they come back on their own somehow. I have needed to reset a sensors by removing the battery one time luckily. I have been waiting to purchase more water sensors until I can figure this out, I need/want about 10 more, to check for leaks and use the smart valve controller to turn the water off when the sensors detect it. I don’t want to spend the extra ~$200 for the sensors if they keep going offline.

Same here. I just have the one sensor - it has a strong signal and, every so often, it disconnects for a minute or so, for no apparent reason. Reports from Aqara app, but I’m not sure if Apple Home has an option for this device to do the same.
