Hello. I’m new here. Just started using Aqara entry sensors as I’m trying to set up Home Assistant and get away from my google and alexa. Looking for other Aqara devices that will help me improve my home assistant experience.

Hey all, my Name is Ray from the United States, first post here even though I’ve been running Aqara gear for a while now. Setup is an M3 hub with an FP300, U300 lock, U2 US switch, G410, G5 Pro, and G100, all tied into a mudroom automation, lock and lighting fire off presence detection, cameras gated behind that same presence state so I’m not getting a notification every time a delivery truck idles out front.

@Aqarabot I’ve poked at the AI Assistant in the app a couple of times when setting up automations, mostly to see if it could shortcut the manual scene-building I’d otherwise do by hand. Results were mixed. It got the basic “turn on light when motion detected” logic right away, but when I tried to describe something more layered, gate camera alerts behind sensor state, time-of-day lock behavior, it either simplified my request into something less specific or asked me to just build it manually anyway.

So here’s what I’m actually curious about: is anyone using the AI Assistant for anything beyond the basic trigger-action stuff, and is it actually saving you time, or are you like me and mostly falling back to manual automation building once the logic gets past two or three conditions? Trying to figure out if I’m missing a better way to prompt it or if that’s just where it is right now.

Good to be here either way, glad to have found a place where people actually dig into the automation logic instead of just unboxing videos.

Morning. Just checking in to say hey. I’ve been saying I need to get more active on this board, but “sayin’ ain’t doin’”, so now I’m putting my best food forward and doing.

Just bought my first Aqara product, namely window sensors.
The aim being to detect when the windows are open so that HA does not allow a person to close the external blinds and damage either the blind or the window.
I have fitted one of the devices I bought and its a bit ugly. Small window. On the window next to it, I have fitted the sensor on the external side of the window and it fits better there.
Question: the present unit I bought it says is not water proof. Is there a water proof version of the “Aqara Door Window Sensor Zigbee Wireless Connection Alarm Smart Mini Door Sensor”?
Also it was a bit sad that the battery was reporting only 72% charge. Did I get shipped a second hand unit?
