I have 3 TRV in my house with external temperature sensors. All have fair to good signal but one temperature sensor in my bathroom. That is the furtest away from my M3 hub so I need a repeater.
So far I saw the Aqara Smart plug would be the cheapest/easiest to add: Smart Plug EU - Aqara
But I’m not very familair to the M3 hub yet. Can you use the cheapest NON Aqara plug too? Or only Aqara?
Any other suggestions?
When I started, I had one m2 and a lot of the smart plugs to widen the signal, worked great for me with Aqara smart plug, and I ended up taking my Philips hue plugs away because there where more function in the Aqara plugs
Hi, a relay with neutral and a socket will probably be the cheapest option, but you can also buy an E1 hub and connect devices to it, this will be a new zigbee network, but in the aqara ecosystem you will not notice it.
I have had great success using these devices to firm up and extend my Zigbee network:
Aeotec Range Extender Zi - Zigbee Network Extender. This is all it does, but it does it very well. I have these placed near the physical periphery of my home and also where the network has trouble penetrating or going around some walls. I currently have 3.
The Third Reality nightlights are also good range extenders. I have 2 currently. They link floor to floor nicely.
Zigbee is a self-organizing mesh network. Reliability increases with the more routes you have from one device to another.
A Zigbee network visualization tool is very helpful in identifying peripheral devices and/or low quality routes in your network. I use the one that is included with the Home Assistant Zha integration
I have various smart plugs that I use to extend range. I really like the thirdreality motion night lights. The different color lights are great for different notifications
