• The ability to set region per home, not per account. So it could be possible to switch between homes in different countries without hustle.
• Cross region automations. (therefore allow to some degree data to be shared between servers in different regions)
• Automations based on differences between 2 sensors. (Let’s say in Room A humidity is higher than in Room B by 10% THEN T2 Relay starts exhaust fan)
For my all–Matter-over-Thread smart home (except cameras and vacuums), I would like to see more Thread devices, such as:
a Thread-based replacement for the Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 — ideally similar to the Philips Hue Wall Switch Module, which turns a regular wall switch into a smart switch used only to trigger scenes or smart devices, without a relay
a Thread-based replacement for my garage door opener,
a Thread-based replacement for my Aqara Roller Shade Driver E1,
a Thread-based replacement for the Aqara Curtain Driver E1,
a Thread-based replacement for the Aqara Vibration Sensor,
a Thread-based replacement for the Aqara Smoke Detector,
a Thread-based replacement for the Aqara Valve Controller,
and the ability for Matter Binding for a reliable smart home.
I really wish that all devices available in China would also be made available in the rest of the world. I have imported many devices from China myself and now run more than 500 Aqara devices in my home. From my perspective, Aqara is the best smart home ecosystem out there, but the limited product selection in Europe is genuinely frustrating.
I would also love to see air quality sensors and thermostats with CO₂ measurement officially available in Europe. I use these devices to control decentralized ventilation systems in our bedrooms, ensuring excellent air quality and, as a result, much better sleep quality. Once you’ve experienced that, you never want to go back.
And finally: please let us use more than just 20 Matter signals. This artificial limit makes absolutely no sense and feels completely unnecessary. With a higher Matter limit, Aqara devices could truly unleash their full power, especially when combined with platforms like Home Assistant.
To make the control language more like a true programming language with “if – then – else“ structure, the ability to assign to variables and the capability to pass values to procedures (scenes).
These would avoid some of the complex work-around currently needed for relatively simple tasks.
Existing automations could be converted using an AI agent.
An inexpensive UK smart socket adapter to sit between a standard UK socket and any device a mains plug.
A desktop display which would show (say) 4 temperature readings dynamically assigned to it through a scene or automation.n in
I wish for a G5 Pro lite (PoE/WiFi) version that carries all the same video function and capabilities but without the Matter hub feature.
I have 4 PoE and 1 WiFi version G5 Pro cameras in the house along with 2 G100 but I feel that having so many Matter hub capable cameras in the house itself is not necessary.
I like the night vision feature a lot from the G5 Pro so I hope Aqara can release a lite version of it so that I can get more to supplement the ones I already have in the house
Else another suggestion is also to incorporate presence sensor into G5 Pro lite cameras with AI features so that it can be used to further reduce the “ghosting presence”.
For example if presence is detected, when motion detected is human or animal, send alert and sends a thumbnail of the moment through the notification of the app. This can be useful in both internal or exterior use.
Power failure sensor/alarm that can send a notification when the power has gone or have a battery LED that remains highlighted to show a power fault has happened.
