When can we expect remote user management capability with U200?

Hello!

I’m new to home automation and recently started setting up my smart devices. I’ve successfully installed the Aqara U200 and paired it with the M3 Hub - everything is working great so far!

One feature I’m really looking forward to is remote user management, being able to add or edit keypad users even when I’m not at home. I saw in the FAQs that this is expected to be released in H2 2024.

I’m not an Apple user and don’t want to buy any other hub just to make this work - I really hope this feature becomes available through the M3 Hub.

Does anyone know when this might roll out for U200 + M3?

Would love to hear any updates or timelines. Thanks in advance!

@chaitanya_kr Hello!

It’s wonderful to hear that your Aqara U200 and M3 Hub setup is working smoothly. Regarding your query about remote user management for the U200, it’s exciting to know you’re looking forward to these upcoming features. Based on the available information, additional features for the Aqara Smart Door Lock U200, like remote user management, are expected to be provided through software updates by the end of the second half of 2024. These updates are anticipated to be available via the Aqara Home App, which means you won’t need an additional hub or Apple products to access this functionality.

It’s always a good practice to keep your Aqara Home App updated to ensure you receive these new capabilities as soon as they roll out. If there are any further updates or timelines, they will likely be communicated closer to the release date. In the meantime, feel free to share any more experiences or questions you might have with the community. Happy automating!

Take a look at the calendar… it’s already mid-2025! Remote lock control without needing to be nearby with Bluetooth would definitely be a smart (and very welcome) upgrade.

Thank you for your feedback! This feature is scheduled to launch in August. At that time, the M3 Hub will require firmware version 4.3.8 to remotely set cyclical passwords for other s on the U200 via the Aqara Home app, ultimately enabling this functionality.

This is indeed good news. The remote user management will significantly increase the use cases for U200.

Now that I recently installed my second U200 (and will be installing the third any day soon to cover all entrances), I stumbled upon another missing feature - centralized user management. When all U200 locks are connected through M3 to the same home, it seems strange to have to create and maintain all users locally on each lock - and honestly difficult to ensure that all pin codes, fingerprints etc are kept synchronized.

I assume that the remote user management enables upload of user access credentials through the app or hub. It would be good to see this extended to allow for either central management or synchronization of user access settings.

@Brudy - Any updates on when in August can we (in Europe) expect the new firmware 4.3.8 for m3 hub?

No firmware update needed for the U200 to enable remote user management?

Recently bought U200 and also looking for remote management. I didn’t expect that you cannot add user remotely, etc. You cannot even view the logs. You can only lock and unlock remotely…When remote control should be released. Is it part of current beta?

@pavel_stanek_cz Thank you for sharing your experience and questions about the U200’s remote management features—your feedback is definitely valuable for the community!

Currently, with the Aqara Smart Door Lock U200, remote actions like locking and unlocking are supported via the Aqara Home app when the lock is connected to a compatible hub like the M3. However, advanced remote management features such as adding or editing keypad users and viewing logs remotely are not yet available in the current public release. These capabilities are indeed highly anticipated.

According to official information, additional features—including remote user management—are expected to be introduced via OTA (over-the-air) updates in the Aqara Home App by the end of the second half of 2024. This means that these features are not part of the current beta or public firmware, but they are on the roadmap and should be available without needing to switch to Apple HomeKit or purchase any extra hubs—just keep your M3 Hub and Aqara Home App updated .

If you’re eager to try new features as soon as they’re available, you might want to keep an eye out for public beta announcements, but as of now, remote user management is not yet accessible in the standard releases.

Thanks again for your input—let’s keep the discussion going, and hopefully, we’ll see these updates roll out soon!

second half of 2024? Is there any revised planning available?

@pavel_stanek_cz Thank you for following up with this excellent question! As of the latest available official information, the release of remote user management and similar advanced features for the Aqara Smart Door Lock U200 is still scheduled for the end of the second half of 2024, to be delivered via OTA updates in the Aqara Home App. There hasn’t been any public announcement regarding changes or revised timelines for this rollout, so the original plan remains in place for now.

Of course, timelines for feature releases can sometimes shift due to development and testing needs, but if any updates or changes are announced, they’ll likely be communicated through official Aqara channels and the app itself. I’d recommend keeping your Aqara Home App and M3 Hub updated so you’re ready to receive the new capabilities as soon as they become available. If anyone in the community hears about a revised schedule, please chime in—let’s keep each other posted!

Can we get a human to respond? I’m very close to tossing my Aqara products in the trash if you can’t seem to be able to implement a simple feature that all your competitors implemented years ago.

Yeah. When do we get remote user creation via the M3 or M100? No AI answers please.
