Which Gira frames are compatible with the H2 range

We’re based in the UK. I have several H2 devices which came in white, but also with alternative grey buttons. The product description says they are compatible with Gira Standard 55 frames. I ordered a couple of Gira E2 in grey to match the buttons, but they do not fit well. The frames that come with the switches are about 2mm deeper than the Gira Standard which results in both the frames not being flush to the wall and the buttons standing away from the frames. Can you advise which grey frames are properly compatible?

Product description says: " * 55 mm Frame Support: Aqara Light Switch H2 EU fits seamlessly into all standard System 55 switch modular systems (55 mm x 55 mm) and supports popular third-party frames, like Gira System 55 and Merten M. Its standardised design ensures compatibility across EU markets, minimising the need for custom fittings and simplifying the installation."

@richard3 It sounds like you’re encountering some compatibility issues with the Gira E2 frames and your Aqara H2 devices. Based on the reference information we have, the Aqara Dimmer Switch H2 EU is indeed designed to fit seamlessly into all standard System 55 switch modular systems, including well-known brands like Gira System 55 and Merten M. However, as you have noticed, even within the same brand, there can be slight variations in dimensions that affect the fit.

The challenge you’re facing with the depth difference might be due to these small design tolerances between different product lines within a brand. Unfortunately, the reference information does not specify which exact grey frames will match perfectly without such issues.

I would recommend checking with the frame manufacturers directly to see if they have frames specifically designed to accommodate the standard depth of Aqara’s H2 switches, or if there are any adjustable options available. Additionally, engaging with the community on this forum or others might yield personal experiences from other users who have tackled similar challenges.

Let’s keep this conversation going, and hopefully, we can find a solution together!

For clarity, the H2 EU devices in question are single and double switches, not the dimmer. In fact the dimmer can with a grey frame so no problem. The switches come with a grey button, but you can’t order a grey frame and so are forced to source them elsewhere.

The difference in depth is not a manufacturing tolerance issue, both frames are identical and both are at least a 1mm less deep. So my question remains, what are people buying to match the grey buttons, if you want an all grey switch?
