Who is using Aqara products via Zigbee2MQTT inside Home Assistant?

Hello everyone, i am checking out how my Aqara devices are performing via Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant.
So far i had tested most of my Aqara devices (contact sensors, temp humidity sensors, power switches, plugs, hubs, button, and more). My main coordinator is Home Assistant Connect ZBT-2.
My experience so far was pretty good apart of when getting power cuts. Some aqara devices like door and window sensor Model MCCGQ11LM, or Aqara Temp & Humidity Sensors T1, don’t come back online after power cuts, i have to manually press sync button on them to bring them back. Having 20+ zigbee devices, it is frustrating finding all and bringing them back online.
How is everyone else experience with Zigbee2MQTT and Aqara Devices ?
Also i would like to ask if anyone tried them via ZHA ? Are they performing better?
Thanks everyone !

I don’t have an issue with devices dropping off the network, but then I hardly ever get power cuts. How have got Z2M set up, as an HA addon or as a seperate LXC/container? I have mine as a seperate LXC which boots first before HA.

If the coordinator loses power it’ll have to rebuild the Zigbee network on boot which will need the device information from Z2M. End devices which can only connect through router devices due to the main coordinater being too far away will need the router device to be online to get a signal through, so I guess that might be where your issue comes from. And older Aqara devices like the MCCGQ11LM can have issues with establishing new routes automatically, and they seem to prefer being connected directly to the coordinator rather than through a router device.

I would suggest swapping the end devices furthest away from the coordinator with T1 versions which support Zigbee 3.0 and can better establish new routes themselves automatically.

I used to have an issue with a bathroom temp sensor dropping off the network constantly and having it’s battery rapidly drain, an older Aqara model. I swapped it for a T1 version and used the older model closer to the coordinator. Both have been rock solid since.

I switched from ZHA to Z2MQTT.
Over-the-air (OTA) updates were the deciding factor for me—ZHA doesn’t support that yet (for all devices).

So far, I haven’t had any problems. However, I don’t have that many devices yet (about 5 routers and 10 other devices).

Be sure to decide on a solution beforehand, though. If you switch, all devices will need to be re-paired.
