Why Does My M3 Hub Keep Disconnecting? Help Please!

Hey everyone, I could really use some help figuring this out.

I’ve had my Aqara M3 Hub running for about 3 weeks now, and at first it was rock solid. But lately it keeps randomly disconnecting from the network, like once or twice a day. Super frustrating because all my automations go nuts when the hub drops off. Lights stop responding, sensors go quiet — a total mess.

I’ve checked my Wi-Fi, even moved the hub closer to the router, no luck. I’m using the latest firmware (or at least what the app says is the latest), and it’s connected via 2.4GHz. Nothing else on my network seems to be acting up.

Anyone else having similar issues with the M3? Could it be a firmware bug, or something basic I’m missing in the setup?

Would be awesome if someone could share any tips or fixes you’ve tried. Thanks in advance!

@SensorSavant Hey there! Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your M3 Hub disconnecting. Let’s see if we can pinpoint the issue together.

First, it’s great that you’ve already checked your Wi-Fi and moved the hub closer to the router. Since you’ve ensured the M3 is updated to the latest firmware and connected via 2.4GHz, let’s explore a few additional steps:

  1. IPv6 Support: Make sure that your Wi-Fi router supports IPv6, as this is necessary for Matter devices, which could enhance the overall stability of your M3 Hub network connection.

  2. LAN Connection: Confirm that all your devices, including the M3 Hub and your phone, are connected to the same local network. This ensures seamless communication across your devices.

  3. Restart Devices: Sometimes, just restarting the M3 Hub and your router can resolve temporary network glitches.

If these suggestions don’t help, it might be a good idea to try the connection process a few more times, ensuring the devices are as close as possible during setup. If the problem persists, please consider creating a ticket for further assistance.
