Why isn't valve controller T1 showing up as water valve controller in HomeKit?

It appears as a normal switch. But there is actually a difference between a normal switch and a water valve controller: a normal switch changes its state almost instantly, while a valve controller takes at least a few seconds to complete the switching. And water valve controller gets its own category/icon in the home app.

Is there an option in the Aqara app to make the controller appear as a water valve controller in HomeKit?

What a valve controller would look like:

@wuwaqara It seems you’re experiencing an issue where the Aqara Valve Controller T1 is not being recognized as a water valve controller in HomeKit, but rather as a normal switch. Unfortunately, the current reference information does not specify how to change the device category or icon in HomeKit via the Aqara app.

However, I recommend ensuring that both your Aqara Home app and the firmware on your device are updated to the latest versions, as updates often include improved compatibility and feature enhancements. You might also want to explore any additional settings in the Aqara Home app that could offer customization options for HomeKit integration.

In the meantime, I encourage you to reach out to the community for shared experiences or insights.
