Hi everyone! I’m working on a project to monitor the status of my basement windows using the HMW-IO-12-Sw14-DR module. It’s been a fun challenge so far, and I’d love to get your input on how to improve it.
Currently, I’ve set up the module to detect whether each window is open or closed. The system works well in identifying the status, but I’m having trouble displaying this information in a user-friendly way. Right now, the statuses are just listed as binary values in the CCU interface, which isn’t very intuitive for my family to use.
I was thinking of using CUxD to create a dummy window sensor that shows the status more clearly. Maybe something with icons or color-coded indicators. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? I’d love to hear your suggestions on how to make this more visually appealing and functional.
The goal is to have a system where anyone can quickly glance and see which windows are open or closed, especially when checking the basement. I believe this would not only improve the usability of my setup but also add a nice touch to my smart home system.
Thanks in advance for your help and ideas! I’m really looking forward to hearing from you all. ![]()
