Wired power requirements G410

I’m using my old transformer which delivers 10,4V measured.
There is no sign of life on my G410 when doing this. Using batteries works fine.
Is this to be expected ? I know the G410 spec says 12-24V but I want to rule out any defect in my unit.

You need a higher powered transformer.

Are you absolutely sure? Doesn’t the transformer deliver 1.5 amps at 12V with a maximum output of 18VA across terminals 1 and 3? The other terminals only provide 4V or 8V. It’s highly likely the wires aren’t currently connected to terminals 1 and 3.

Could be wiring - but OP said “I’m using my old transformer which delivers 10,4V measured.” I took that to mean he used a multimeter and measured the output and it was too low. But maybe he can try a different wiring configuration.

You’re absolutely right, thanks for catching that! I only looked at the 12V label on the photo and completely missed the actual measured output of 10.4V.

The transformer has clearly seen better days, or there’s a significant voltage drop across the old bell wires. Since 10.4V is well below the camera’s 12V minimum, trying different wiring configurations probably won’t save it.
